BlakTinx Dance Festival Curtain Call in Phoenix on Oct. 2-3

BlakTinx Dance Festival celebrates 10 years with Curtain Call! Join the Latina Dance Project on October 2–3 for two nights featuring 20 Black and Latinx choreographers and artists from Phoenix and beyond at Third Street Theater inside Phoenix Center for the Arts, 1202 N 3rd St, Phoenix.

Friday and Saturday feature two completely different programs, with contemporary and modern dance, dance theater, salsa, hip hop, flamenco and more.

Presented by Latina Dance Project, BlakTinx has spent the past decade creating space for Black and Latinx choreographers to share their stories, perspectives and artistic voices through movement. This 10th anniversary celebration brings together artists from across the festival’s history alongside new work created for Curtain Call.

Friday, October 2: Juls Tarango & Juan Carlos Gutiérrez Garcia, Angelina Ramirez, Renee Davis, RAIMIZ, Alexander Patrick-Rolando, Thiditsana “Didi,” Liliana Gomez, Shayla Eshelman & Honestine Mbuyenge, Steven Redondo, and Candy Jimenez.

Saturday, October 3: Yvonne Montoya, Leonardo Caudillo & Rayshawn Watkins, Emani “Lotus” Spencer, Carla Leon & David Olarte, RaShawn Hart, Zarina Mendoza, Esteban Rosales, Ruby Morales, Alicia Nascimento-Castro, and Jenny Gerena.
