NFL Great Larry Fitzgerald to be Honored by the Coalition of Blacks Against Cancer in Scottsdale on September 27
On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the Coalition of Blacks Against Cancer (CBAC) invites the community to step into elegance, inspiration, and impact at its annual fundraiser, “A Night in Paris,” at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale.
This unforgettable evening will blend glamour with purpose as guests gather to honor cancer survivors and recognize individuals and organizations who have made extraordinary contributions in the fight against cancer. The evening begins with a vibrant silent auction at 5:30 p.m., followed by a dinner program at 7:00 p.m. Cocktail attire is requested.
This year’s distinguished honorees include:
- Rising Phoenix Award– Arizona Complete Health
- Judge George Logan Spirit of the Fight Award– Renae Boone-Linden and Cancer Matters
- Barbra Watson-Riley Community Impact Award– Larry Fitzgerald and the Larry Fitzgerald Foundation
This year is the organization’s 15th annual fundraiser. Every ticket purchased helps provide life-saving education, resources, and support to cancer patients and families in the community. Proceeds from “A Night in Paris” directly support CBAC’s mission to provide high-quality, reliable information and compassionate support to Black cancer patients and to increase awareness of prevention, diagnosis, and screening. This work is critical:
- Black men are 70% more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer and twice as likely to die from the disease compared to white men.
- Black women have a 40% higher death rate from breast cancer than white women, even though they are slightly less likely to be diagnosed.
Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available now at coalitionofblacksagainstcancer.org.
Guests can also extend their generosity by purchasing a ticket for a survivor to experience “A Night in Paris” at no cost.
Together, we are making a difference and building a future where fewer lives are lost to this disease.
