‘Our Voice Our Vote’ Primed to Boost Black Turnout in AZ, Secure Victory for Kelly, Biden-Harris
Submitted by Our Voice Our Vote
PHOENIX — Member-led non-profit Our Voice, Our Vote Arizona announced on August 27 that it has launched the largest Black-led voter movement and Political Action Committee in Arizona history.
OVOV PAC will commit seven figures and tens of thousands of volunteer hours to increase Black and other minority voter turnout in November to help put Mark Kelly in the U.S. Senate and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the White House, while supporting other Arizona candidates committed to fight for change.
Building upon its team that helped win multiple statewide races in 2018, OVOV organizers will mobilize hundreds of virtual volunteers and canvassers in targeted communities around Arizona to inspire and activate voters in the most important election of our lifetime.

“We’re going big, because no one can afford to sit on the sideline in this election,” said Our Voice, Our Vote Arizona Co-Executive Director Reginald Bolding. “Our goal is to make close to 250,000 voter contacts at the same time we hold politicians accountable for not moving Arizona forward. Arizona’s Black population is relatively small, but we are catalysts for social change. Our efforts will provide the margin of victory in multiple close races in Arizona, including President.”
“We don’t get ready, we stay ready,” added Danaysha Smith, OVOV’s Maricopa County Field Director. “Since the growth of the Black Lives Matter movement we’ve seen interest in our organization grow as well every day. Young people especially are looking for a way to turn their frustration and desire for justice and equality into action. That is exactly what we are going to do. Arizona is our state. Our community. Our people. Our home. This is our voice. This is our vote.”
