NCBW 100 Phoenix Presents Fashion Your Pitch

This session will teach you how to pitch your ideas to customers and investors, build your value proposition, and level up your business!

This workshop will commence as two breakout sessions.

Breakout Session 1: Team members of Arizona State University’s J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute

This session is designed for youth ages 5-17 who want to change their concepts to cash. Youth participants will be able to walk away prepared to craft their story and to pitch their ideas to community stakeholders and investors. This session is open to all youth ages 5-17. However, this session is required for all who are eligible and plan to participate in “Pitch Perfect” for a chance to win $1000 from Afro Unicorn.

Breakout Session 2: Felicia Davis, Founder and CEO, Black Women’s Collective

As a business owner, it is critically important that you understand the needs of your market in order to build a sustainable business that can survive and thrive in any economy. Aspiring and existing entrepreneurs will leave the Fashion Your Pitch Workshop with an understanding of the decision-making process of a buyer, the key principles of psychology for positioning their pitch and the distinctions between a business plan, pitch deck and an elevator pitch and when each one is used.

Participants will also learn the importance of having and articulating a powerful value proposition that pulls them out of a sea of sameness and gets them chosen over their peers.
