Join CBAC for “A Night in New Orleans” on September 28, 2024
We are thrilled to invite you to a special evening of advocacy, awareness, and celebration as the Coalition of Blacks Against Cancer (CBAC) hosts our annual fundraiser, “A Night in New Orleans,” on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the luxurious Westin Kierland Resort and Spa.
This year’s event promises to be an unforgettable night honoring those who courageously battle cancer and recognizing the remarkable contributions of individuals and organizations that have made significant strides in the fight against cancer.
We are honored to welcome the renowned television personality Judge Glenda Hatchett, the first African-American State Court Chief Justice, as our distinguished guest speaker for the evening. The event will be masterfully emceed by Susan Casper, setting the stage for an inspiring night. Guests are encouraged to dress in New Orleans Mardi Gras style cocktail attire to fully embrace the spirit of the evening.
Awards to be presented:
- The Rising Phoenix Award – Cancer Support Community Arizona
- The Spirit of the Fight Award – Fred Taylor & The Southwest Prostate Cancer Foundation
- The Barbra Watson-Riley Award – Pinkwellchick Foundation, Inc.
As Marion Kelly, co-founder of the Coalition of Blacks Against Breast Cancer, reminds us, “A Night in New Orleans” is about more than raising funds; it is about raising awareness and raising hope. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer. Our strength lies in our collective commitment to support, uplift, and drive meaningful change.
All funds raised from this event will directly support CBAC’s mission to provide high-quality, reliable information and support to Black cancer patients, and to educate the Black community about cancer prevention, diagnosis, and screening. The need is critical: Black Americans are more likely to be diagnosed with and die from breast and prostate cancers than individuals from other ethnic backgrounds.
We invite you to join us for an evening of fun, inspiration, and community in support of this vital cause.
Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available now on coalitionofblacksagainstcancer.org.
If you’re unable to attend, you can still make a difference by purchasing a ticket for a cancer survivor to experience this uplifting event.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at “A Night in New Orleans!”
