PHOENIX, ARIZONA – Dr. Ashley Hodge, DBH, LNHA, LMSW of South Phoenix, Arizona filed the required number of petitions with the Maricopa County Superintendents’ Office Tuesday, July 5, 2022, solidifying her candidacy for Roosevelt School District Governing Board in the General Election on November 8, 2022.
She was born and raised in the South Phoenix community and is a third-generation graduate of the Roosevelt Elementary School District. Dr. Hodge then went on to graduate from Cesar Chavez High School in Phoenix Union High School District where she now serves as a Social Worker.
Dr. Hodge obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, a Master’s Degree in Social Work, and a Doctoral Degree in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University. She is currently pursuing her second Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California.
She has been endorsed as one of the 2022 Saving Our Schools #PublicSchoolProud
Candidates. Dr. Hodge has also obtained an endorsement from the Arizona List- A Committee for Pro-Choice Demortaric Women in Arizona.
When elected, she plans to address interrupted teaching and learning due to the pandemic, identify opportunities for students to enroll, attend and graduate from their neighborhood public schools and reimagine the curriculum to include social-emotional learning, and culturally relevant practices. She also plans to create ways to increase staff retention and provide mental health support for staff.
Dr. Hodge is committed to advocating for an educational experience that addresses the whole student inclusive of social-emotional learning, and physical & mental health in today’s academics.
