Arizona Corporation Commissioner Sandra Kennedy to Be Honored at SEF Thurgood Marshall College Fund Brunch in Mesa on October 5
The Sphinx Educational Fund (SEF) and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) will host the 16th Annual SEF Thurgood Marshall College Fund Brunch on October 5 at the Sheraton Mesa at Wrigleyville West, 860 N Riverview, Mesa.
The SEF Thurgood Marshall College Fund Brunch raises scholarship dollars for local graduating high school seniors who have plans to attend college starting in the Fall 2019 semester. Financial assistance is also provided to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund which is based in Washington, DC.
The theme for this year’s brunch is: “Creating Connections and Building Bridges … Together.”
Keynote speaker Alicia Morgan will deliver a powerful message that encourages young people and adults today to work together and learn from each other in order to accomplish their educational, career and financial goals. Morgan is the Vice President of Education and Programs at Frontiers of Flight Museum, a TEDx speaker and an award-winning STEM/STEAM advocate.
In addition to the keynote address, Arizona Corporation Commissioner Sandra Kennedy will receive the Thurgood Marshall Award of Merit. This honor is presented to Arizonans whose actions have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to making the Phoenix community, the State of Arizona, and the world better.
