A Taste of Melanin Returns for Its 3rd Annual February Event Series in 2026
The Zay Project, a Phoenix-based nonprofit organization, announces the return of A Taste of Melanin, its 3rd Annual month-long celebration of art, food, movement, and community, taking place throughout February 2026. Designed as a welcoming, inclusive experience for all, A Taste of Melanin brings together people from across the Valley to connect through creativity, conversation, and shared experiences.
Founded by Michael Jackson, President of The Zay Project and founder of Mya Kai Creative Agency, A Taste of Melanin has grown into a multi-event series that blends cultural exploration with education, wellness, and joy, offering free and low-cost programming for families, young professionals, creatives, and community members of all backgrounds.
“Each year, A Taste of Melanin continues to evolve,” said Jackson. “This third year is about bringing people together, whether through food, music, movement, or meaningful dialogue, and creating space for shared experiences that feel accessible, energizing, and community-driven.”
