Original group members Bryan Abrams and Mark Calderon reunited in 2010 and joined Adam Emil, a young singer from Chicago, to recharge the highly successful R&B group of the early 1990s.
Through singles I Wanna Sex You Up, I Adore Mi Amor and All 4 Love, Color Me Badd has sold over 12 million albums, not only in the United States, but throughout the world. They are particularly popular in Oceania and Asia, where a 1996 studio album Now & Forever went No. 1 in Japan. Their debut album, C.M.B. sold over 6 million on its own and achieved triple platinum status.
Since forming in Oklahoma in the mid-1980s, Color Me Badd popularized the new “hip-hop doo-wop” genre, along with the groups Boyz II Men, Hi-Five and All-4-One, and the recognition soon followed. In 1992, Color Me Badd was nominated for two Grammys, and I Wanna Sex You Up won the American Music Award for favorite soul/R&B single and the Soul Train Music Award for Song of the Year.
With 17 top 20 singles, the music of Color Me Badd is featured throughout popular films and television series, such as New Jack City, No Strings Attached and Striptease.
