Phoenix Fashion Week 2013 had it all. Sold-out shows, designers, fierce models, buyers, sellers, bloggers, photographers, fashionistas - one big FASHION Frenzy!
Each night was unique and featured dazzling fashions in front of sold-out crowds. Hundreds of dollars were raised for “Don’t be a Chump! Check for the Lump” a Fashionable Pink charity event on October 1 at Domus PHX. Talking Stick Resort was the hub for Phoenix Fashion Week.
Fashion, Education and Humanity; the four days of fashion hit all three pillars. Showcasing established designers, emerging designers, models and fashion education seminars. In which buying and purchasing opportunities were made available.
Ja’ire International Couture- Emerging Designers; showcased edgy yet comfortable pieces on the run way in their line of Cotton Couture and Made For Him, Sexier on Me collection. They shared that being a part of the emerging designer’s category encouraged support for one another and felt more like a family then competition. Ja’ire International Couture continues to stay relevant with showcases coming up nationwide, clothing lines in boutiques, stores plus an online presence. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to be in front of the Phoenix market,” said Ja’ire.
A Collins College fashion student was awarded $1,000 scholarship towards their fashion education. The Little Black Dress Challenge was on display in the shopping villa market. For the first time a male and female was awarded contracts with The Agency Arizona. Models also received makeovers from Toni & Guy and No7 cosmetics.
“I am myself on the runway showing confidence,” said Rickey Watson, model. “I am there to entertain the audience. I am glad to have the opportunity to walk in Phoenix Fashion Week which is a training ground to my development.”
Jae Vonne Teague and Miss-Ashley Kendrick who attended Friday’s show said, “The experience offered a unique view of how models and designers a-like create a world all in its own. The models each carried their own story through trendy splashes of color, edgy designs, and sexy couture. A show-stopping event for sure! Very Sex-in-the-Cityish.”
Even though the 2013 Phoenix Fashion Week has come to a close, all eyes remain on Phoenix as the buzz is still buzzing. Great job to all involved!
