Editor's Note: If you are living in the Phoenix area and you have not attended HomeBase yet, you are truly depriving yourself of one of the most gratifying, powerful, thought-provoking, pride-filling experiences, you'll ever have as an African American here! It's truly amazing to see the talent that graces the stage and I'm in awe of the fact that HB and his wonderful staff have managed to turn HomeBase into a MOVEMENT! It's so refreshing to attend an event with so many positive people of all races who are all gathered in one venue to support spoken word and each other! I believe HomeBase has the chance to be one of the most celebrated black events in Arizona's history! Make sure you slide into HomeBase every chance you can!!

I have been to open mics in many states, watched and even attended a Def Poetry Jam back in the day. However HomeBase has put a new spin on what to expect from open minded entertainment.
HB is extending his offer of tradition to us and it only cost us a little time and $5.00.
Little does he know, he is providing $50.00 worth of entertainment. The wine and food specials cannot be beat. It is a great time and not too hard on a single dad's money.
Hey ladies, if you want to experiment at asking a guy out on a date, treat him to a night at HomeBase.
peace

HomeBase is a movement! I believe that HomeBase will become one of the most celebrated black-oriented events in Phoenix's history! Much props to HB, his supportive staff, all the talented artists who have graced the stage and of course, the audience for making HomeBase such an overwhelming success!

Glad I got a chance to go tonight. It was my first time getting out since I've moved to phx. I will be back next time I'm in town on a 1st or 3rd sunday.

I attended the reading last night (4-20-09) for the first time. I just had too say, it was a wonderful experience of sharing and a meeting of the minds.
Thank you,
Melinda Howell
