I had my birthday at 49 grove last Saturday night. The place was a bit to
packed but had a lot of fun. Good looking crowd, great DJ and very
strong drinks. A bit too strong for some of my friends, but their
light weights. All the staff were really attentive and made a point of
taking care of us. When we left the club we even got a thank you from
what turned out to be the owner. It wasn’t your usual B.S. “Thank you
come again,” either and for that I want to plug this place as a great
place for a birthday.

perhaps you should shorten the unnecessary commentary {what happened to? etc)...club central is a dud...the owner a real butthole, and his attitude towards black folk condescending...do not recommend supporting this place even if black folk claims to own it...which he does not.

I find this site a big help and comfort to me.. As a man of color,a recent transplant from the east, it's good to know where to go....or not go. As a man of color you can't be too careful nowadays. I want to have fun but also be safe.

You are a fool Ken! LOL ... if you're in Tempe, you need to take a stroll on the ASU campus. The numbers are ridiculous during the Fall semester. If you're in Scottsdale, go to Scottsdale Fashion Square or Kierland Commons. If you're really bold, go to the Chinese Cultural Center on 44th Street north of Van Buren.
